Panda UX Studio Pty Ltd (“PANDAUX”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through pandaux.com.au, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Who we are

PANDAUX is a product design and engineering studio based in Melbourne, Australia. You can contact us at hello@pandaux.com.au, on +61 450 859 404, or at Hub Southern Cross, Level 2/696 Bourke St, Melbourne VIC 3000.

What this policy covers

This policy covers our public website. Clients who use our project dashboard, and people we work with on projects, may also be covered by the terms of their agreement with us.

What we collect, and how

Information you give us

  • Enquiry and contact forms: the details you enter, such as your name, email address, phone number, organisation and message.
  • Booking a call: when you book a time with us, Calendly collects your name, email address and any answers you give, and shares them with us.
  • Ask Panda: the questions you type into our AI assistant.

Information collected automatically

  • Your approximate location: our hosting provider, Vercel, works out your approximate town from your IP address. We use it to show your local time and weather, and to understand where questions to Ask Panda come from. We don't ask for your precise location, and we don't keep your IP address.
  • How you use the site: with your permission, Google Analytics records the pages you visit, how you arrived and the device and browser you use. Vercel also measures visits and page speed, without cookies and without identifying you.
  • Choices you make on the site: your browser remembers settings like light or dark mode, text size, narration and sound, so they stay as you left them. These stay in your browser and aren't sent to us.

Why we collect it

  • To reply to your enquiry and talk with you about your project.
  • To arrange meetings you book with us.
  • To answer your questions through Ask Panda, and to review those questions so we can improve the assistant and our website.
  • To show your local time and weather on the site.
  • To understand how our website is used, so we can make it better and more accessible.
  • To keep our website secure and prevent spam and misuse.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising. If you've contacted us, we may follow up about your enquiry; you can tell us at any time if you'd prefer we didn't.

Cookies and similar technology

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. When you first visit our site, we ask which cookies you're happy for us to use:

  • Necessary: these keep the site working and remember your choices, including your cookie choice. They're always on.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies to count visits and see which pages are useful. It only runs if you agree to it.

We don't use advertising or social media tracking cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If you turn analytics off, we remove the Google Analytics cookies from your browser. Some embedded content, such as YouTube videos and Calendly booking, is provided by those services under their own privacy policies.

Ask Panda, our AI assistant

Ask Panda answers questions about our services using artificial intelligence provided by Anthropic. When you ask a question, the text of your question is sent to Anthropic to generate the answer.

We keep a record of each question and its answer, together with the page you asked from, your approximate town and country and the time. We use these records to check the quality of answers and to improve our website. We don't record your name, email address or IP address with them, so please don't include personal details in your questions.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers who help us run our website and business, and only so they can provide that service:

  • Vercel: hosts our website and provides visitor location, analytics and speed measurement.
  • Sanity: stores our website content and Ask Panda records.
  • Resend: sends the emails generated when you submit a form, including the copy of your submission sent to you.
  • Anthropic: provides the AI behind Ask Panda.
  • Open-Meteo: provides weather forecasts. We send it only an approximate location (to about 10 km), never your IP address.
  • Google: provides Google Analytics, if you agree to it, and YouTube video embeds.
  • Calendly: manages meetings you book with us.

We may also disclose personal information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our clients or the public.

Information sent overseas

Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and Europe. When we use overseas providers, we take reasonable steps to make sure they handle personal information in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

How we protect it

We use reputable providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, but we work to keep the information we hold safe.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. When we no longer need it, we delete it or remove anything that could identify you.

Your choices and rights

  • Access: you can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: you can ask us to correct information that is wrong, out of date or incomplete.
  • Deletion: you can ask us to delete your information, for example your enquiry or Ask Panda questions.
  • Analytics: you can turn Google Analytics on or off at any time from Cookie settings.

To make a request, email hello@pandaux.com.au. We'll respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first at hello@pandaux.com.au and we'll do our best to resolve it. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the new version on this page and change the date at the top.
